WHO I AM:

Hello! My name is Marlon Maralit "Marl" Anyayahan, but to many, I’m known by several names. They call me Pang Marl to close friends, Dok to those I’ve served and worked with, and Monica to my beloved LGBTQIA+ family.

I was born and raised in the heart of Lobo, Batangas, the second among four brothers. As a young, gay boy growing up in a small, conservative town, I experienced what many in our community silently endure bullying, judgment, and exclusion. But even in those painful moments, I found strength, learned humility, and discovered early on the value of resilience.

At a young age, I entered the workforce out of necessity. After high school, I worked as a yaya (nanny) in Manila for two years. It was an experience that taught me compassion and responsibility. From there, I took on multiple roles in both Batangas and Metro Manila, gaining real-world experience that shaped the hardworking, community-centered man I am today.

Determined to push further, I enrolled as a working student at STI College Makati, graduating in 2010 with a degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Services. During my college years, I proudly represented my school in culinary competitions winning 1st Place in the STI Cooking Challenge (Cluster Division) and earning a national Runner-Up title. I also brought home the Champion title from the very first SM Hypermarket Fast Cooking Challenge in Makati.

Now, at 42, I’ve chosen to return and root myself in Lobo. I currently work as a certified Pharmacy Assistant and a supervisor in our local pharmacy. More than that, I’ve committed myself to public service, not only through FTS Lobo but also as the President of Batangas Varsitarian 1932, an organization close to my heart.

For me, life has never been about fame or fortune. It’s about legacy, loyalty, and love for the people you serve.

MY ADVOCACY:

My advocacy is simple, yet deeply personal: to serve with an open heart, expecting nothing in return.

I dedicate my life to being present for those who need support, guidance, or simply someone who understands. Through FTS Lobo, I’ve found a family and most specially, a safe space where love knows no labels and where everyone has a voice.

My journey is proof that no matter how humble your beginnings, you can rise, lead, and make a lasting impact, not by chasing the spotlight, but by showing up for your community, consistently and sincerely.

WHY I SERVE:

I serve because service is my soul’s language.

Having gone through hardship myself, I know how it feels to be unseen. I serve to make sure no one gets left behind, and that every member of our community, regardless of background or identity, knows they matter.

To serve is not just what I do. It’s who I am.

“Actions speak louder than words.
And that is who I am.”
