WHO I AM:
I’m Ferdinand Manalo Jr., but I prefer to be called as JayJay. I was born and raised in Fabrica, Lobo, Batangas, a barangay in the town of Lobo that nurtured my early values of hard work, kindness, and pride in community.
My journey took a new direction when I left Lobo to pursue my college education at Batangas State University – Alangilan, where I studied Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. That experience opened many doors for me not only professionally, but also personally, as it helped shape my identity.
I built my career in Manila and spent most of my 20s in the city. I am currently working as a Human Resources Representative (Senior Recruiter), where I conduct interviews and work directly with healthcare professionals based in the United States. In my field, I’ve learned the importance of communication, empathy, and equal opportunity, values that also guide me to be empathetic and fair.
In 2023, I made a meaningful decision to return and stay for good to my hometown. I joined FTS Lobo Organization Inc. not just as a member, but as someone committed to making a difference. I now proudly serve as the Secretary of the organization and am passionate about using my experience and voice to uplift others and contribute to our growing, united, and inclusive LGBTQ++ community here in Lobo.
MY ADVOCACY:
I advocate for equal access, fair treatment, and representation of LGBTQ++ individuals especially in communities where our voices are still growing. I believe that through unity, we can challenge outdated norms and create safer, more accepting spaces where every person, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can live with dignity, respect, and love.
WHY I SERVE:
I serve because I know what it means to be unseen and unheard and I want to help change that. With my professional background in recruitment and human resources, I’ve seen the value of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in society. I believe that our community has so much untapped potential, and through service, I aim to empower others by showing that success and acceptance are not just possible, they are deserved. By blending my career skills with my passion for advocacy, I hope to lead with empathy, build connections, and be a voice for those who are still finding their own.
