Dear gentle follower,

Thank you for having the courage to share something so deeply personal. What you’re carrying every day, the expectations of your family, the weight of being the breadwinner, and the silence around your identity, is not easy. That kind of pressure can feel suffocating, and yet here you are, showing up, surviving, and reaching out. That in itself is a powerful act of strength.

Please know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with who you are. Your identity is not a sin, not a failure, and certainly not something to be hidden in shame. You are whole, even when the world around you tries to convince you otherwise. You are worthy of love, of peace, and of belonging, exactly as you are. We understand how painful it is to feel torn between being true to yourself and protecting the ones you love, especially when faith and family are so deeply intertwined. But your truth is sacred. Your journey is valid.

Staying strong doesn't always look loud or proud, sometimes it looks like quiet resilience, like getting through another day, like whispering “I’m still me” even when no one else knows it. That kind of strength is real, and it matters. And in your own time, at your own pace, you’ll find the freedom to live more fully, without fear. Until then, hold onto hope. Hold onto your worth. And know that there is a community here, people who see you, who honor your story, and who will stand beside you no matter what.

You are not alone. You are deeply loved. And even in the silence, your truth is powerful.

With love and solidarity,
Jerry Shangyin
